Triptans are a class of prescription drugs (
receptor agonists) designed to abort moderate-to-severe migraine attacks, often reducing symptoms within 30–90 minutes in 70–80% of patients. They work by narrowing blood vessels and reducing inflammation. Common examples include sumatriptan, rizatriptan, and eletriptan, available as pills, nasal sprays, and injections.
