Carboplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapy medication (sold under brand names like Paraplatin) used intravenously to treat various cancers, most commonly advanced ovarian carcinoma and small cell lung cancer. It works by attaching to DNA, causing cross-linking that prevents cancer cells from replicating and dividing. Common side effects include bone marrow suppression, nausea, and neuropathy.
